TALK ON AVANT GARDE RUSSIAN ARCHITECTURE by Richard Pare is to be held on Wednesday 19 December 2007, 7.30pm at the Pushkin House.
A series of photographs documents the present state of the Soviet Union's avant garde architectural legacy, the fruits of a 14 year project by Pare. The avant garde is best represented in Moscow, restored as capital in 1918 and home to some of the country's most talented architects. Pare will talk about the history of the buildings and the experience of photographing them including Le Corbusier's famous Centrsoyuz, the Melnikov House, Ginzburg's Narkomfin and even some buildings that no longer exist.
